ZombietimeI'm sure many of you have already seen this but i just got this by email shortly after noon from the OFA/Mitch Stewart/BarackObama.com panhandling email titled, "Power".
I know, what an imaginative title!
Opponents of health insurance reform have power. Some reap huge profits from the status quo. Others take large campaign contributions from those who profit.
Way to "break it down" for the Obama sheep...i mean people.
The only (massive) problem with this view put forth by Organizing for America is that a majority of the people protesting against this government health care system Barack Obama looks to push through are NOT health insurance companies nor do they have any affiliation with them. Yet, on the other, hand let's question who is funding groups like Organizing for America to be for this health care "reform". Oh yeah, they're nothing but a front group for the DNC to bypass political laws and restrictions. And their roots go back to their original name: Obama for America.
So they'll do anything to keep the current system in place. When fact-based arguments don't work, they attack President Obama with outlandish lies about a government takeover and euthanizing the elderly. And once that doesn't work, they'll go even further.
What's wrong with keeping a superior system in place to a dumbed down, watered down version of healthcare similar to systems in other countries which have proven nearly disasterous? What don't these people get? We're not talking about what's necessarily in the bill concerning a 'government takeover' (even though it is) and euthanization of the elderly'. We're talking about the paths the healthcare bill is opening which makes such a thing possible in the future when this healthcare "reform" starts to financially bleed the country and runs out of money to treat people. These aren't outlandish lies Organizing for America. These are real possibilities, over time, if the bill gets passed. This sort of dwindling socialized care has happened in other countries yet, somehow, you believe this country is immune to that? Especially when
we're trillions in debt in the first place!
We don't know what they'll do next. What we do know is that we'll have to be prepared for anything -- ready to set the record straight, ready to make sure the media and Congress see the overwhelming support for reform, and ready to pass real reform this year.
You can't "set the record straight" on something that is trash. No matter how much you try to decorate it up, this healthcare "reform" is still nothing but garbage. Sure, in the beginning (if passed), it may seem to be the greatest thing ever for this country. But, as time goes on and funds are consumed/disappear, the waste will be shoved on the American people in the form of lower quality healthcare. Meanwhile,
somehow and somewhere it'll be found that politicians'll be skimming money off the top of healthcare funds for themselves. In the end, combined with the untrustworthiness of politicians, this will end up being nothing more than a scam and ordinary Americans who entered into it will have a hard time getting out of it; if they will be able to at all.
But we'll need the resources to do it -- to pay for rapid-response ads
in key districts and states, organizers to put together large rallies and grassroots events throughout the country, and the best technology available to empower volunteers -- all at a moment's notice. Please chip in $5 or more to help us pass real reform, this year. This was never going to be easy. As candidate Obama said just three days before the election: "Don't think for a moment that power will
concede without a fight." Now, we're seeing how true that really is.
It is NOT grassroots to have large rallies put together by a group with near-direct ties to the White House. Maybe it is to some f**king Alinsky-ites and their witless "Dear Leader" supporters but, the reality is, most Americans will not just be silent as this goes on. The extremely vocal protests only have one way to go. And that is to expand. The best part of it is that we don't need $5 to grow in opposition. We just need you, OFA/DNC, to keep funding political follies. Mix that with the naturally bred soul of America to unite and question government, it's all we need. No, it's not going to be easy. In fact, it's not going to be successful for you at all.
These same well-financed forces have killed reform in the past, and they're aiming to do it again. But here's why this time can be different: There are folks like you, all around the country, who are ready to go toe-to-toe with the special interests, even when they're not fighting fair.
"These same well-financed forces have killed reform in the past"
Way to not sound politically non-invested there Organizing for America. But, outside Washington, there is a country full of people not being funded politically by healthcare companies. You truly don't have any idea how many people are against this bullshit reform, do you? Of course you do, to an extent, but like anything other politically tunnel-visioned group you only can see what's in your narrow view.
Going 'toe-to-toe' with special interests and using propaganda passed off as fact through fake grassroots will not hold back the discontent forever. Actually, the floodgates of protest against this healthcare reform farce are already nearing the condition of being unrepairable. The same goes for the vocal protests against the Obama administration in general.
Thanks,
Mitch

Yeah, i'm sure America'll be thanking you all in the years to come if this bill is passed. The (a clear arrogant over-estimate) hundreds of millions you are claiming this will help aren't going to like their steep rise in the amount of taxes they have to pay for the dwindling quality of care they'll receive from this socialized system of healthcare "reform".

By the way, shout out to the anon who gave the me one star as the first rating for this post. I must've said something right. The least you could've done is left a comment on why you chose to rate this post one star :-)
